🔍 Understanding Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis)
Frozen shoulder, or adhesive capsulitis, is a chronic condition characterized by progressive stiffness, pain, and restricted range of motion in the shoulder joint. It affects about 2–5% of the general population, more commonly in women aged 40–60.
The condition progresses through three clinical stages:
- Freezing Phase (6 weeks to 9 months): Increasing pain and gradual loss of motion
- Frozen Phase (4–6 months): Pain may decrease, but stiffness and limited movement remain
- Thawing Phase (6 months to 2 years): Gradual improvement in range of motion
